To send templates via SMS you will need to create these templates and follow the steps below to send to patients.

Important Notes: 

  • selecting the 'Template' drop down is choosing from the Content Library. These are available for use on both Emails and SMSs, however SMSs will be converted to plain text. 
  • selecting from the 'SMS Template' drop down is choosing from the SMS Templates menu. These are only available for use with SMSs. 
  • SMSs are charged per standard SMS or approx. 144 characters. Be mindful of this when creating templates.

Create SMS Templates


Step 1. Go to Business Setup -> SMS Templates -> here you can view and edit existing templates and add new ones. 




Step 2. Select the New Template button -> enter a Template Name -> enter the Message Body -> Create.


Important Notes: 

  • SMSs are charged per standard SMS or approx. 144 characters. 
  • The below merge tags will work in the following conditions:
    • {{client.first_name}} - all SMS Templates
    • {{client.last_name}} - all SMS Templates
    • {{url}} - when sending from a prescription (in Step 5 below) the prescription link will be inserted. 
    • {{url}} - when sending from an invoice (in Step 6 below) the invoice link will be inserted.




Send from Patient Record


Step 3. Select a Patient from the Patient list -> from the action bar select Send Message -> either SMS -> select the SMS template from the SMS Template menu -> Send




Send from Messages tab


Step 4. Select a Patient from the Patient list -> select Messages -> click on the 3 dots next to the SMS you want to reply to  and open the sidebar menu -> select Reply -> select the SMS template from the SMS Template menu -> Send




Send from Prescription


Step 5. Select a Patient from the Patient list -> select Consultations -> click on the 3 dots next to the prescription you want to send and open the sidebar menu -> select either SMS Prescription -> select the SMS template from the SMS Template menu  -> Send



Send from Invoice


Step 6. Select a Patient from the Patient list -> select Finances -> click on the 3 dots next to the Invoice you want to send and open the sidebar menu -> select either SMS Prescription -> select the SMS template from the SMS Template menu -> Send
