Product Warnings

Product warnings appear when you select a product in a prescription, providing important information to consider before recommending a supplement.

Warnings may include:

  • Medication interactions: Major medication interactions and relevant TGA-listed medication interactions.
  • Nutrient interactions: TGA-listed ingredient and nutrient warnings.
  • Allergens: Allergens such as sulfites, soy, phenylalanine and lactose, where applicable.
  • Product preferences: Alerts for ingredients or formulations that may not suit a patient's preferences, such as gelatin capsules.
  • Age-related warnings: Warnings relevant to specific age groups.

These alerts provide an additional safety check at the point of prescribing, helping you identify potential concerns based on the patient's known allergies, medications and individual requirements.

Example:  Eagle Ubiquinol Bio Q10 150mg 30C

When selecting Eagle Ubiquinol Bio Q10 150 mg 30C, the product warnings identify:

  • Allergens: Sulfur dioxide and pollen.
  • Major medication interaction: A warning advising against taking the product alongside Warfarin without medical advice.

Medication interaction warnings are particularly important, as overlooking a potential interaction can have serious consequences.

Review all warnings displayed and consider their relevance to the patient's circumstances before proceeding with the recommendation.

Important:

Product warnings will only display on the Practitioner view of the prescription, they will not be visible on the patient prescription view.

Supplier Tech Pages

Once your products are added to the prescription table, manufacturer Tech Sheets automatically appear at the bottom of the prescription. Note you may need to refresh your browser page after adding your supplements.

Click the download button for the Supplier tech page to open immediately in a new browser tab.

Close the tab to return to your Prescription tab.

Ingredient Summary

The Ingredient Summary helps you identify potential ingredient duplication across products in a prescription by automatically calculating cumulative nutrient amounts in real time.

How it works:

As you add products and build dosages on your prescription, the Ingredient Summary updates automatically to display combined ingredient amounts across your prescribed products.

To access -> select Ingredients Summary at the bottom of the prescription page.

The summary displays two columns:

  • Amount per serve: The total amount of each ingredient per serve across products containing the same ingredient.
  • Prescribed Amount: The cumulative amount of each ingredient based on the dosages prescribed.

Example:

If you prescribe Designs for Health Ubiq-Evail multiple times, the Ingredient Summary automatically calculates the cumulative prescribed amount of Ubiquinol.

In the below example, the total prescribed amount reaches 300 mg.

Important: Always review the Ingredient Summary as part of your prescribing process to ensure recommendations are appropriate for the individual patient.
