In the video and image below, we show you the Patient Finances tab. 


The Finances tab on the patient record includes:

  • all the patients invoices
  • a graph showing how much the patient has spent with you over the last few months
  • Vouchers assigned to this patient
  • Entitlements owing to the patient
  • Any Payment Details attached to the patient file


Invoices are shown in descending order with the gross total of the invoice and the balance remaining to be paid. There is an icon to indicate any invoices that are hidden - we recommend hiding invoices instead of deleting them in case you make a mistake or need to refer to it later. If you are connected to Xero, then deleting an invoice is not available because doing this gets SimpleClinic and Xero out of sync. 


Vouchers are now only used for adding credits to your patients’ files, either for a gift voucher to use at the time of booking or if they have some money owed to them that they can use in the future. 


Entitlements are allocated to patients when they purchase a Bundle. These bundles can be for a group of services or for a service and a test. 


Payment Details can be saved on the patient file at the time of booking or by an admin user. The card information is stored in your merchant account (Stripe or Square) and can be charged against when paying an invoice. 


You can add new invoices, vouchers, entitlements and payment details by selecting the add new button next to the section. 


You can also view a list of all the items purchased by this patient, to help with reordering. 


You can view items by clicking the view button next to the item and each section will be limited to a few records so you can click forward through each page by clicking the arrows next to the page numbers.
