You can configure the details that are used on the outbound sender ID of SMS messages sent from SimpleClinic to your patients.  This article discusses the allowable values.

By default, when creating your new account we will have set up your account to use an alphanumeric sender ID.  An alphanumeric sender ID is a text string up to a maximum of 11 characters.  Caller ID spoofing is not allowed by the gateway.  Caller ID spoofing is sending messages and using a different (ie. your personal mobile phone) sender ID.

SimpleClinic supports three different options for your default SMS number.

Alphanumeric sender ID

Firstly you may choose to continue to use an alphanumeric sender ID.  You can either use the existing one that we have created, or define your own.  If defining your own it MUST be 11 characters or less and MUST NOT be a mobile phone number. This identifier MUST also not contain spaces or symbols such as a hyphen, or the SMS messages will not be delivered!

Alphanumeric sender IDs cannot be replied to.  When a patient sends a reply to an alphanumeric sender ID it will fail to send,  The notification to the user will be determined based on the actual device and network of the user.  This is outside our control.  We strongly recommend including a note that the number is non reply if using an alphanumeric sender and providing the user with details to contact you in the message.

SimpleClinic Shared Numbers

We have a pool of shared numbers that can be used for sending messages.  These support two way messaging and will allow the patient to reply to the message which will then be delivered to your SimpleClinic dashboard and the patient record.

Please contact support@simpleclinic.net if you would like this enabled on your account.

SimpleClinic shared numbers are a pool of valid Australian mobile phone numbers registered through our SMS gateway partner and only available for SMS.

SimpleClinic Dedicated Numbers

We can provide a dedicated number that can be used for sending messages.  Dedicated numbers will function in exactly the same was as shared and allow a patient to reply to your message and have this routed to the SimpleClinic dashboard and the patient record.  Dedicated numbers are linked to each individual clinic, no other clinics will be using the same number.

Please contact support@simpleclinic.net if you would like this enable on your account.

SimpleClinic dedicated numbers are valid Australia mobile phone numbers registered through our SMS gateway partner.  The are only available for SMS and there is an additional cost for this each month. For information on the latest pricing, please email support@simpleclinic.net
