By default, your account will be set up to use a 'no reply' shared pool number.
SimpleClinic supports three other options for your default SMS number.
SimpleClinic Shared Numbers
We have a pool of shared numbers that can be used for sending messages. These support two way messaging and will allow the patient to reply to the message which will then be delivered to your SimpleClinic dashboard and the patient record.
Please contact support@simpleclinic.net if you would like this enabled on your account. Please be aware there is a monthly cost as well as a cost per SMS sent AND received.
SimpleClinic shared numbers are a pool of valid Australian mobile phone numbers registered through our SMS gateway partner and only available for SMS.
Alphanumeric sender ID
Firstly you may choose to define your own AlphaID. It MUST be 11 characters or less and MUST NOT be a mobile phone number. This identifier MUST also not contain spaces or symbols such as a hyphen, or the SMS messages will not be delivered.
Alphanumeric sender IDs cannot be replied to. When a patient sends a reply to an alphanumeric sender ID it will fail to send, The notification to the user will be determined based on the actual device and network of the user. This is outside our control. We strongly recommend including a note that the number is non reply if using an alphanumeric sender and providing the user with details to contact you in the message.
There are strict requirements set by the carrier for setting up an AlphaID. To apply on your behalf for an AlphaID we will need a letter from you, that contains the following:
- your letterhead
- your business name
- your ABN
- your domain email address
- what you would like your Alpha Tag to be - e.g. SIMPLCLINIC
If your business name and email/website domain is not similar to the Alpha Tag that you are requesting, the application will be denied by the SMS provider service.
SimpleClinic Dedicated Numbers
We can provide a dedicated number that can be used for sending messages. Dedicated numbers will function in exactly the same was as shared number and allow a patient to reply to your message and have this routed to the SimpleClinic dashboard and the patient record. Dedicated numbers are linked to each individual clinic, no other clinics will be using the same number.
Please contact support@simpleclinic.net if you would like this enable on your account. Please be aware there is a monthly cost as well as a cost per SMS sent AND received.
SimpleClinic dedicated numbers are valid Australia mobile phone numbers registered through our SMS gateway partner and are only available for SMS.
