SimpleClinic integrates with Evidence-Based Laboratories for you to request and track pathology referrals and results from within SimpleClinic. 


Please note: This pathology integration is available for Australian Praccies ONLY.


To request pathology from SimpleClinic, you will need to:

  1. Click Patients in the navigation bar -> select patient’s name from the patient list.
  2. From the action bar, select “Pathology Request”.
  3. You will see the patient details populate in the top menu.
  4. Under “Payer”, you can select if the patient or the practitioner is paying for these tests. (Please Note: 99% of the time, the patient will be paying for the tests. In exception to the practitioners who are offering testing as part of a service/package. E.g. Metabolic Balance praccies.)
  5. Patient notes can include any additional information.
  6. You will be able to select the Stand Alone Tests, these can be ordered without a testing panel. Toggle these to ON if you would like to include them.
  7. Under Panels, you can switch ON the testing panels you are requesting, if applicable. The panel description will be contain the tests that are included.
  8. Under Add On Tests, these tests cannot be ordered as individual tests and can only be ordered in addition to a testing panel.
  9. Click SAVE in the top right hand corner of the referral screen.
  10. Once saved, you will be able to click “Send Referral Link” from the top action bar. 
  11. If the patient is paying for the tests, they will receive a link via email to pay for the test/s online, once paid the referral form will be released to them to take into the collection centre. The collection documents are accessed through the referral link or by clicking Print on the referral ->Download Collection Document. (Please note: The patient will need to print the referral documents to take into the collection centre.)
  12. If the practitioner is paying for the tests, click PRINT ->  Check to accept the terms of sale -> PAY NOW -> Enter your card details to process payment. Once done, you will be able to print the referral form for the patient to take into the collection centre. The collection documents are accessed through the referral link or by clicking Print on the referral ->Download Collection Document. 



Accessing the results once the patient has had their samples collected:

  1. Click Patients in the navigation bar.
  2. Click on a patient’s name from the patient list.
  3. Select the Pathology Results tab.
  4. Under the pathology results, you can select the blue eyeglass button to view the referral.
  5. If the results have been released, you will be able to see the tests requested with the results and ranges.


Keeping track of pathology referrals requested:

In the navigation bar, you will see the option for “Pathology Referrals”, this will provide you a list of the referrals requested, and you can access the referral details from this screen.


When results are uploaded from EBL, you will receive an email to notify you results are available.
