One of the ways of adding a new patient to the SimpleClinic platform is via the Add New button in the action bar on the patients screen.  This will display the following dialogue box:

The required fields on this interface are marked in red.  These are:

  • First Name
  • Last Name 
  • Phone
  • Email

The other fields on this window are optional.  If you do not fill in the required fields, the OK button will remain disabled and you will be unable to save the new client record.  You can fix this by ensuring all required fields are filled out.

While the Date of Birth field is optional, if you enter the Date of Birth, the date field is also validated to ensure it is a valid date. If an invalid date the OK button will also remain disabled.  If you are not using the date picker, the date MUST be entered in a valid format of a two digit day of month, two digit month, and four digit year separated by hyphens (-).  The placeholder indicates this as dd-MM-yyyy.  For example the 11th July 1976 would be entered as 11-07-1976.  Dates that don't match this format will not be accepted as valid and the OK button will remain disabled.

Please note: If you wish to bypass any of the required fields, simply enter a "-" or ".".
